Superstar Rajinikanth steps in to support Kamal Hassan
The Madras High Court restricted the film to be released until Jan 28 and on Jan 26 the movie will be screened to the Judge and the movie’s fate will be judged after that.
Seeing his close friend and colleague Kamal Haasan in a tight corner, actor superstar Rajinikanth has urged Muslim groups to withdraw their protest.
"I request my Muslim brothers to sit with Kamal Haasan, discuss and release the film without hampering the storyline. He is no ordinary artiste but an extraordinary one who can take Tamil cinema to all new levels," Rajinikanth said in a statement.
"Kamal and I have been friends for over 40 years and I know personally for a fact that he wouldn't hurt the sentiments of anybody let alone Muslims," he added
When the Muslim organization had objected the movie Kamal organized a special screening to prove them wrong but the organization hardened their stand to the movie
"He should be respected for the fact that he screened the film to Islamic leaders before its theatrical release," argued Rajini.
The movie has been banned in Andhra Pradesh on Friday by the state government.
