Controversial on Kadal

The Christian Republic Party has demanded the ban of the film Kadal because it has sequences against Christianity including a scene where Jesus Christ’s picture is broken. This organization has given a complaint to the Chennai Police Commissioner with regard to this. In their complaint it has been mentioned, "Kadal is a film which has been directed by Manirathnam. This film has been released in the theatres and is running now. There are some scenes in this film which hurts the feeling of Christians. In a scene, Aravind Swamy comes to join the seminary. Arjun who is there mentions that Satan in the younger brother of Lord Jesus Christ. Moreover Arjun refers himself as Satan. His name is Bergman. This is the name of a famous Christian singer. Similarly the hero breaks the picture of Lord Jesus Christ. In another scene, the hero assists a woman in delivering a baby. There is blood in his hands. When someone asks him about the blood stains in his hands, he says that it is the blood of Lord Jesus Christ. There are so many controversial scenes that hurt the feelings of the Christians. Hence we request that these controversial scenes to be deleted. A case should be filed against Manirathnam. If these scenes are not deleted we will be holding protests in the theatres screening Kadal."
