Gautham Menon after Nee Thane En Ponvasantham is now directing a film titled Dhuruva Natchathiram which has Surya in the lead role. Parthiban and Simran are donning important roles in this film. No heroine was signed for this film. Gautham Menon wanted to select his earlier heroines like Sameera Reddy, Andrea or Trisha. Finally he wanted to cast Trisha who had earlier acted in his film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa but his close friends suggested that it would be better if he casted Amala Paul in the female lead role and apart from this she is also a popular actress in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Gautham Menon immediately signed Amala Paul. Amala Paul is very happy because she had already acted in Thalaiva which was produced under a big banner and now once again she is going to act in another big banner.
