Legendary playback singer T M Soundararajan has passed away...
Legendary playback singer T M Soundararajan had created records in Tamil film industry by singing more than 10,000 songs. With his volatile voice he has enthralled the fans of the stalwarts MGR and Sivaji Ganesan. He who was aged 91 years had a fall before one month.
He sustained head injury. He was admitted in the hospital and returned home after the treatment. Later on he had respiratory problems. Again he was admitted in the hospital and was undergoing treatment. He returned back from the hospital on 20th of this month.
On Saturday, he had a severe respiratory problem and passed away at 3.50 pm. His body was kept at his Mandaveli residence for the public to pay their homage. Yesterday morning M G R Party Leader R M Veerappan, Dravida Party leader Veeramani, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee former leader Kumari Ananthan, former cabinet Minister M K Azhagiri and DMDK leader Vijayakanth paid floral tributes to the legendry singer.
Others who paid their homage were producers A V M Saravanan, J V Rukmangadhan, music composers M S Vishwanathan, Ilayaraja, Deva, Shankar Ganesh, Sabesh-Murali, Srikanth Deva, directors C V Rajendran, K Bagyaraj, T Rajendar, R V Udhaya Kumar, S M Vasanth, Thangar Bachan, actors V S Raghavan, Vadivelu, Rajesh, Livingston, M S Bhaskar, Madhan Bob, Radhika Sarath Kumar, Sachu, playback singers Sirkazhi Siva Chidambaram, Mano, P Suseela, S P Sailaja, industrialist V G Santhosham and numerous film personalities.
After this the funeral rites took place. His body was taken in a procession from his house at 4.30 to the crematorium located in Mylapore. His body was cremated at 5.30 pm. The crowd in the crematorium became very emotional and started crying.
